The team over at Outsiders Store always seem to have fast fingers when it comes to things in the outdoor world. You’ve only got to look at their relationship with Japanese brands like Montbell & Snow Peak to understand they’ve got a keen eye for nice outdoor gear.
Their latest endeavour involves two brands, Picture Organic Clothing & La Sportiva. On Friday, the Outsiders Store Instagram shared a post featuring a pretty pathetically obscured shoe, alongside details that their Coal Drops store in London is to be launching the new collaboration on the 19th of September. It didn’t take long for us at Proper to identify the obscured shoe as a La Sportiva TX4.
The TX4 is a cult approach shoe, considered by many climbers to be the only approach shoe worth its weight. Thanks to the shoe featuring a wide toe box, Vibram sole, rubber protective mudguard, and protective rubber toecap it can handle just about anything a crag could possibly throw at it. The TX4 has come in many different iterations since its introduction, the latest of those being the TX4 Evo, which we’re pretty sure from the pixelated imagery the Picture Organic Clothing collaboration is taking. Don’t quote us on that though.
After taking a look at Picture Organic Clothing’s website we found that the capsule will also involve clothing, we’ll have to wait for another obscured image from Outsiders to be released before we comment on that though.
The most important part of the whole thing though is that the capsule will be non-profit with both brands pledging to donate all proceeds to the NGO, Protect Our Winters, which works to preserve mountains and mobilize outdoor communities as climate advocates.
The funds raised from the collection will allow Protect Our Winters to continue lobbying with key institutions to prioritize climate action and expand their low-carbon mobility platform for trips to mountain resorts.
Other than the collaboration being non-profit another thing to note is that prior to this collaboration La Sportiva were more or less unknown to working with other brands, having only ever collaborated with American sportswear brand Janji in 2023.
Upon some more further investigation, we uncovered that Outsiders Store is the only UK venue to be a part of a three-continent launch for the collaboration. If you’re in the capital on the 19th, we’d highly recommend getting down.
Because the whole thing is a bit secretive, the only thing we can say for sure is that the collection will be available to purchase from 7pm at Outsiders Coal Drops store in London.
