Gramicci & KEEN unveil their first collaboration

You know when your two dead similar mates, who’ve never had much to do with each other – for whatever reason, finally click. This is a bit like that, but there’s no risk of them hanging out together without inviting you, because they’re not real people.

KEEN & Gramicci have both been quietly working their magic we’re all so familiar with, but this time together, so you know whatever they’ve been up to is going to be good.

Whatever they’ve been up to in this case comes in the form of a trainer – a new model of KEEN’s Jasper Zionic, with a few tasteful changes.

The Jasper Zionic comes from rock climbing heritage after taking heavy inspiration from an older KEEN climbing shoe called the Carver, so you’re in safe hands whether your tackling a big wall, or just milling about town.

The most noticeable design twist on the KEEN shoe from the gang at Gramicci is the suede upper, which is hairier than a Chewbacca convention and sort of looks like rockwool insulation so it’s bound to keep your feet warm.

Other notable design tweaks are the Gramicci stitching on the tongue and the side panel stitching that looks like mountains, we assume that’s what it’s meant to look like, they are two hiking brands after all.

The question about these isn’t deciding whether to buy them, it’s deciding which colour to buy them in. Both are pretty solid options, but we think the Sorrel Horse / Black takes the cake, colourway names are getting increasingly weird now aren’t they?

The Jasper Zionic is set to drop on the 6th of September and you can pre-order a pair here.

Probably not a lot of point doing that now though, September 6th is only tomorrow after all and they’ll be available in all the usual suspects (Outsiders Store, SEVEN STORE et al.)
